HIKING

Mount Paggaio is a real challenge for those who love mountaineering and hiking. Hikers experience a remarkable natural environment rich in fauna, flora and waterfalls through hiking trails. They can also reach the highest peak of Mount Paggaio at an altitude of 1.925 m.

Our National pathway 04 passes through Paggaio Mountain and meets the European pathway E6. There are easy hiking trails perfect for the beginner hiker or the family but also trails suitable for more experienced hikers and demanding climbers. Some of these paths are: Eikosifoinissa, Proti, Nikisiani, Rodolivos, Mati, Mavra Nera, Avli, Mesoropi.

For those who wish to stay in the hotel’s area, there is the Holy path of Panagia Eikosifoinissa, the Byzantine path. Its route begins from the eastern entrance of Kormista (Serres). Alternatively, we can start our walk from the spot where the path meets the road which leads to the Monastery. This is the Byzantine path leads to the Holy Monastery of Panagia Eikosifoinissa. The path was recently cleaned and clearly marked.

MOUNTAINEERING

Exceptional attention should be paid to a range of a vertical rock exposure (with differences in altitude 150-200m) located on the north and northeastern side of the Trikorfo mountain tops and can be characterized as a remarkable hiking field in the area of Paggaio.

RAFTING – CANOE KAYAK

River Aggitis is considered to be the ideal rafting and canoe-kayak experience. A travel route of 15 km separated in two different destinations. A) Advanced level, duration 1:30’ with a variety of interchanges among slopes of 50-70m. B) Basic level, ideal for beginners and children up to 10 years old. The most appropriate accessible spots are the areas of Galazia Nera (Blue Waters) and the Five-arched stone bridge of Aggista.

SKIING

Falakro Oros (The Bald Mountain) is the best and closest ski resort (60 km far away from the hotel). Falakro ski center is equipped with 21 ski slopes, 9 ski lifts and 3 chalets. There is a restaurant in one of the chalets. Ski slopes altitude from 1.725 - 2.232m. The surrounding area is an ideal place for excursions since visitors can experience activities such as skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, etc.
